Foundation announces new officers and directors

The Foundation is proud to announce new corporate officers and directors whose terms are effective immediately. New officers and directors are elected to two year terms.

“This is a historic time in the Foundation’s history. Never have we been so well positioned to live the vision and mission of the Foundation as we are today,” said Katie Herschede, newly elected Foundation president. “Our board is committed to generate funds for the educational and philanthropic activities of the fraternity, encourage lifelong learning and engage in charitable endeavors. I hope you will join us as we truly make a difference in the lives of others through educational grants and scholarships, leadership development and help for those with kidney disease and their families.”

President – Katie Herschede (Gamma Tau, Northern Kentucky University). As the former vice president of operations, secretary, director of programming and Transplant Games coordinator for the Foundation, Katie brings a wealth of experience and operational knowledge to this position. In her professional life, Katie is the Director of Government and Community Relations for Northern Kentucky University (NKU). Katie also attended the University of South Carolina where she completed her graduate work in higher education administration.

Vice President – Michelle Soucy (Theta Omicron, University of Toledo). Michelle has spent most of her volunteer career working with collegiate chapters as a chapter key advisor, advisory board member and regional programming coordinator. Michelle has also served on the Foundation’s fundraising committee and as a Foundation director. Professionally, Michelle is the Program Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters Michigan Capital Region, a leading national non-profit.

Secretary – Kim Hildred (Gamma Epsilon, Waynesburg University). Many know Kim as a Past Grand Archon and past Foundation president who has served the Fraternity and Foundation in a number of board and volunteer positions. Professionally, Kim serves as the Staff Directorof the Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Social Security in the U.S. House of Representatives. Kim also earned her master’s degree in counseling from Duquesne University.

Treasurer – Judith L. Slater (Gamma Nu, Rutgers). Judy has served the Foundation this past year as treasurer. Judy has previously served as the director of finance, housing committee member, regional financial advisor and chapter key advisor. In her professional life, Judy is the Vice President and Controller for the Fox News Network.

Re-joining the Foundation are Grand Archon Pamela Downey (Theta, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign) and Supreme Council director Aggie Malter (Gamma Xi, Widener University). Pam and Aggie were appointed by Supreme Council and bring a tremendous amount professional and volunteer expertise including their years of past experience as Foundation directors.Amy Keach (Gamma Nu, Rutgers) and Judith Distler (Zeta, University of California, Los Angeles) have been reappointed to two year terms.
