Delta Theta Chapter, Oakland University

Phi Sigma Sigma has led me and continues leading me down the road to success. Being the first in my family to go to college, my parents really didn't know what to expect as far as finances go. I was a full-time student, worked part-time, and was active in my chapter. The reason I applied for an educational grant is so that I can take the burden off my parent's shoulders of helping me with funding my college education.

Debt is a scary word to any graduating college student. Receiving an educational grant from the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation, reassured me that I will not have to add to the loan debt that I already have. This grant helped me complete my bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in human resource development this year. I am so thankful for the work that the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation does to make scholarships and educational grants possible.

Words cannot describe how thankful I am for the opportunity to be awarded an educational grant. The Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation has impacted my life and my family's life. It is such a blessing to be able to walk across the stage at graduation knowing that I was able to do something that my parents had not had the opportunity to do. Thank you for the gift of education. I plan to personally continue donating to the Phi Sigma Sigma Foundation so that other sisters will be able to receive the gift of education too.
